Jaucqir LaFond
Jaucqir LaFond (they/them) is a New York based actor, singer, writer and mover originally from Lansing, MI but raised in Atlanta, GA. They began their career as an artist playing trumpet, but after appearing in their middle school production of Annie, they got bit by the bug and decided to pursue a life of acting. They continued on their acting journey by earning their BFA from Howard University where they began studying playwriting and classical voice. In their senior year, Jaucqir made their regional debut in Tanya Barfield’s Blue Door, receiving a Helen Hayes Award for their performance. They continued their studies at Columbia University, deepening their understanding of process and building community. Jaucqir is excited to continue discovering the bounds of their imagination and sharing their love of storytelling.
